2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

When a company lables there products as Organic are they playing on the word and taking advantage of customers while still including UNSAFE TOXIC INGREDIENTS. My answer to this in most cases would be “yes”, and that seems to be the case with a new skin care and beauty product line from PureLiving.ca.

There is a new Organic line of products out and on the shelves at Chapters and I am sure many other stores called Beautea. An Organic Tea based lotion that looks great, smells great and works great too. (i tested it). However my upset came when I tried to look up the ingredients on the box. To my surprise there were no ingredients listed. I checked the bottle of Beatea lotion and only the Organic Teas were listed. No mention of any other ingredients (which there always is).

My first reaction when I cannot find ingredients is to put whatever I am looking at back down as the company is usually hiding something. Maybe this is not true in all cases, but I have found it to be true in many.

So I set the overpriced $20.00 bottle of hand lotion back down. A general rule I love by is that I won’t buy something that goes on my skin or my childrens with out knowing exactly what is in that product.

I am not sure if you are aware, but your skin is the largest organ on our body and absorbs everything you put on it. To stay healthy we follow a simple rule. If you can’t eat it then you shouldn’t put it on your skin.

Since I liked the product I decided to email them when I returned home to get a product list. They kindle sent me it in 24hrs but questioned my asking. ???

Below I have copy and pasted the ingredient listing from their Moisturizing Body Lotion, exactly as I was sent it. At a quick glance it looked good, but once I slowed my eyes down I ended up dissapointed with this new Organic body lotion from PureLiving.ca. I have bolded the ingredients that should cause concern to you.

Beautea (pureliving.ca) INGREDIENT LISTING

Water (Aqua), Certified Organic Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Oil, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Carbomer 941, Tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), T.E.A., Certified Organic Fragrance, Certified Organic Ginseng (Panax Ginseng) Extract, Certified Organic Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis) Extract, Certified Organic Lemon (Citrus Limon) Oil, Certified Organic Orchid (Cymbidiums) Extract, Certified Organic Oolong (Oleum Amygdalarum Amarum) Extract, Certified Organic Soybean (Glycine Max) Oil, Certified Organic Sunflower (Helianthus Annuus) Oil, Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Oil, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii).

My advice to you is to not use products that contain (T.E.A) Triethanolamine.

These chemicals are already restricted in Europe due to known carcinogenic effects. Repeated skin applications of DEA-based products resulted in a major increase in the incidence of liver and kidney cancer.

If you want to support the American Medical Industry and bring their wrong standards into Canada, then by all means buy their toxic laced organic products and join the long list of patients that support the medical industry by poisoning themselves.

My advice is when you come across products that contain ingredients that are known cacarcinogens or toxins is to email or call the company and let them know your dissappointment with their products ingredients. Let them know you will not buy it and let them know you will inform all your friends about the toxic ingredients they use.

The more we voice ourselves as consumers and people who deserve to keep our health when using products. The more the world will change.
