After a walking through the cleaning isle of Walmart a few times one day, I finally stopped to read up on the new Green cleaning line of products from Clorox, called “Green Works” that kept catching my eye. It seems a lot of big brand name companies (bad companies) are jumping on the wagon and trying to come green. I say great.. but I am still cautious when it comes to buying a new product from a company that has done so much bad to the earth.

My immediate thought always after reading they are green is wondering if they are toxic in anyway to us humans. Green is nice and all, but if a green product is loaded with ingredients dangerous to humans, then is it still really a green product. Not in my eyes and hopefully not in yours.

<script type="text/javascript"

With so many companies jumping on the green wagon and trying to cash in on what is green (earth friendly). I find companies are overlooking the fact that their green products need to be non toxic to humans as well. I have found a long list of new “green products” that are loaded with ingredients that cause irritation, cancer, gene mutation, endocrine disruption and more in humans. Some of these ingredients are Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), parabens and others like polyethylene glycol (widely used in cough syrups, cold medicine tablets by Tylenol, Motrin, Exact brand and others).

It is all fine and dandy to save the earth, but if I get sick because of the use of these ingredients then was it all worth it paying a few extra dollars to be “green”?

So remember.. just because it says “Green” does not mean its not toxic to you or your little ones. So be smart and do a little reading on ingredients. Learn what they are and what they can do to you. If you are just unsure. Skip it till you know more about the product.

Better safe and alive than sick and sorry I say.
